Standard catalogue inserts run from 2 mm to 12 mm in ISO Metric, BA, BSW, UNC and UNF thread forms. Beyond catalogue, we can develop and supply any kind of special ultrasonic insert exactly as per customer specifications.
An ultrasonic horn applies high-frequency vibration to the insert, which generates heat at the brass/plastic interface and locally softens the surrounding thermoplastic. As the plastic flows around the insert's exterior knurling and grooves then re-solidifies, the insert is permanently locked in place — creating a strong, reusable internal thread for fastening.
A heat driver achieves the same result without ultrasonic equipment: it applies controlled heat directly to the insert, softening the surrounding plastic for embedding.
